Cleveland Park is a
quiet, residential neighborhood rich with early 20th Century
architecture and equally rich with pedestrian-friendly shops,
restaurants, and greenery. Although it's only a five-minute
Metro ride or twenty-minute walk to downtown, its street life
and offering of small shops and restaurants give it the feel and
charm of a small town. It's one of the few neighborhoods in
Washington that has retained its original character and hasn't
been overrun by big chains and runaway development. Cleveland
Park is one of the greenest neighborhoods in the District, being
home to the National Zoo, arguably the most beautiful stretches
of Rock Creek Park, the gardens at the National Cathedral, and
Tilden Gardens. Cleveland Park is bounded by Wisconsin Ave. on
the east, Rock Creek Park on the west, Klingle and Woodley Roads
on the south, and Rodman and Tilden Streets on the north. |
