Penn Quarter, or downtown's Seventh Street corridor, has fast become the city's center of nightlife and entertainment. Hip hotels, restaurants and loft apartments continue to sprout up amidst attractions like the International Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Shakespeare Theatre and National Building Museum. Penn Quarter is a rarity in Washington: brand new developments, restaurants, shops, and boutiques located in the center of downtown, located right next to the biggest attractions in the city—the White House, the National Mall, the Verizon Center, downtown offices, and Smithsonian museums. Culture is plentiful, with D.C.'s Chinatown, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, and the National Portrait Gallery anchoring the many cultural attractions in the neighborhood and the dozens more within a few minutes' walk. The neighborhood is bounded by 3rd St. on the east, 15th St. on the west, Pennsylvania Ave. on the south, and New York and Massachussets Aves. on the north.
